Abstract:
A method for the determination of chromium Ⅵ in the cigarette tipping paper by high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) was developed. Cr (Ⅵ) was extracted using a phosphate buffer. After filteration, chromium Ⅵ reacted with diphenylcarbazide to form a purple complex, and the chromium Ⅵ content was detected with a diode array detector. The limit of detection (LOD) of Cr(Ⅵ) was 0.020 mg/kg, the quantitation limit was 0.067 mg/kg. The recovery was ranged from 84.0% to 99.8%. Results indicated that the accurancy and prcision met the requirements of the detemination of Cr(Ⅵ) content in cigarette tipping paper.
